Wesley Fulghum and Annie Smith Fulghum

Wesley Fulghum (12/24/1987-9/13/1989)
Annie Smith Fulghum (10/29/1902-10/17/1985)
Wesley was the teacher of the Adult Men’s Sunday School class for many years until advancing years and failing health prevented his serving in that capacity. He was a member and chairman of the Official Board and a charter member of the United Methodist Men. He sang tenor in the choir for many years and was a Lay Speaker for the district. Wesley was a leader in the remodeling of the church and the building of the parsonage. He served the church and the Lord faithfully until his death.
Annie was a devoted Sunday School teacher and many of the present members have felt her influence. A native of Gates county, she came to Halifax County to teach in the South Rosemary School, and having married Wesley, she became a member of Smith Church, where she became an active member of the WSCS. She also was a longtime Vacation Bible School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.
