Mr. Garner served as Sunday School Superintendent in the days when one of the duties was to arrive early and build a fire in the stoves of the sanctuary. He was on the Board of Stewards and a charter member of the United Methodist Men. He helped with the remodeling of the church in the early 1950’s and was a member of the Official Board.

Mrs. Garner was active in the UMW, sang in the choir and served as communion steward. She was always willing to initiate and help in the many activities of the Church, such as fund raising suppers.
