Jeanine Butts
Jeanine became a member of Smith Church late in life, but she quickly became active, attending Sunday School and worship services regularly. She was always willing to help with any task, but she would insist she was not a leader. Jeanine was often teased because her job at the UMM stew was to peel potatoes. A war bride from France, she came to Roanoke Rapids with her husband, Jack, who preceded her in death. Smith Church is richer for her having passed its way.
