Mr. Hawkins was a member of Smith Church until his death at an early age. He served as Sunday School Superintendent.

Dora was a life-long member of the church. She served for many years as a Sunday School teacher, and was a faithful and hard working member of what was then called the Women’s Society of Christian Service (WSCS). She helped to organize a Young People’s Division.
