Bennie Died 1997-Age 83; Maxine Died 2010 Age 92

Bennie, as everyone knew him, served as a Sunday school teacher and was a charter member of the United Methodist Men. A member of the church board, he served a time as chairman. He attended the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class for many years. Bennie served his Lord and Smith Church in many “unofficial” ways, oftentimes behind the scenes.
Maxine was a lifetime member of Smith United Methodist Church. The daughter of Eddie R. and Dora Powell Hawkins, she served as Sunday School Superintendent, was a member of the UMW (formerly the WSCS) and was a member of the John Wesley Fulghum Memorial Sunday School class. Maxine was always willing to help in any fundraising project such as the donation suppers. Maxine always arrived early for Sunday School to hand out bulletins.
