One of Jim and Dora Pearson’s seven sons, Clifton joined Smith Church at an early age. He, like many of the other Pearson children, sang in the church choir (tenor). He held various positions on the church board and was an active member of the United Methodist Men. He also helped in the construction of the parsonage.
Julia served the church by participating in many of the events and projects. She was a member of the United Methodist Women.
After Julia’s death, Clifton married Alvorado Grooms one Sunday immediately after the worship service. She was and still is a member of the church and together they were active in many phases of the church program until his death thirteen years later.
