Mr. and Mrs. Powell were longtime, faithful members who strongly supported the missions of the church. “Miss Nina” was a member of the Adult Women’s class and the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She is remembered by many for her collection of hats, varied, but always colorful. At that time, all women wore hats to every service. Both of them gave generously of their resources to help the growth of Smith Church.
